The day got better around lunch though. That was when I went to check my mail and saw that I had received my new Dirt Poor Robins cd. It was released last Friday in Louisville. I was not able to be there so my buddy Micah picked it up for me and mailed my copy to me. Thanks Rev!!!

Dirt Poor Robins is a band from Louisville. Their style is incredibly cool sounding. Lead singer Kate Robins's voice is near intoxicating and lures you in so easily. Her husband, Neil Robin's musical and lyrical talent is obvious throughout every single note heard. Their website is still promoting their old album, The Cage. That album was the first one I heard (I think it is their first ever). I saw them do a couple shows in Louisville. The show that DPR puts on is so refreshing in a sea of crappy music that is on the radio and the concerts performed in many venues today. The new album, The Last Days of Leviathan, does not disappoint. If you are looking for new music that is high quality, entertaining, and easy to listen to while doing any task, you need to pick up either Leviathan or The Cage.

The other thing that brightened my day was the arrival of a pleasant treat that, I believe, every one looks forward to, Girl Scout Cookies! I was able to buy this year's stock of Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties from a coworker. I really do not know anyone that does not like these cookies. Everyone should be able to find a flavor to enjoy and help out the local Girl scouts while in the process!

One thing about today I did not like at all was this:

This is the pain of owning an SUV, I know, and definitely not the most I have ever paid for gas, but still very unpleasant. It is interesting to me how gas prices will fall and then quietly creep back up high levels and there is nothing we can do about it!! I am planning on traveling quite a bit at the end of the month, not to mention next week's trip to Chicago. This will not be a welcome issue to have to incur n my gas guzzling machine!

The first is of Rick Sanchez talking about the effects of the Chilean earthquake on other islands.

The next one is a classic segment of an Abbot and Costello skit. I wish I had known about this one in math class.

ALSO: I almost forgot. In regards to the pottery creature, I only got 2 names Edgar and Lyle. Let me know if you prefer one of those or have an original. He shall be named soon!

Random thoughts:

-Today was an incredibly beautiful day!! I don't know all the specs but I'm sure it was in the 40s if not low 50s. It was sunny and just one of those days that makes you happy. It was a much neded day among all the gloomy, cold and depressing winter days we have had.

-It was nice to hear that Louisville closed out Freedom Hall in grand fashion. I bet it was a joy to be in the Ville today! I really do miss that place.

-I actually won at something today. Look at this below. I do not really win anything of substance other than bragging rights, but it is something right! It is a Twitter account that will send out a movie quote and you reply. I am not sure if the winner is the first one that gets it right or they just pick one at random but today that person was me!! I bet i get a bunch of spam followers now because all of @DVDQuotes's 4,195 followers just gained access to my name!

In other news, we picked up our pottery from last week. Here is mine:

He does not look too different from the last picture, but up close is shinier and the colors look very nice. I am quite impressed with how it turned out. Now he needs a name!! Please suggest what you think his name should be. One suggestion was AG. What do you think?

Also, this is not an avenue to really share many details about the boys I work with and I am sure that some time in the future I will share more about what is I do, but today was rough. Please be praying for all of the boys here at Salem Ranch and especially for all of the Staff. We have a tough job and can get very discouraged very often. Your prayers will be noticed and are very appreciated.

I hope this blog finds you all doing well. I am enjoying keeping this blog going even though many days I struggle with what to write. I feel as if I really do not have much to offer and hope that my little insights and thoughts are at least entertaining.

I feel as if that is why I must share interesting links, videos, thoughts, and other random crap. That being said, and recalling back to the blog where we discussed crying, here is a list of movies it is ok for guys to cry at.

Random thought: Why is that the song "Lips of an Angel" has to be so catchy and get stuck in your head? It's a song that completely goes against my thinking of relationships and yet after hearing I catch myself singing it! I hate it. This thought has been brought to you by the last guy that was on American Idol tonight.

LOST was quite interesting tonight. I do not know what my thoughts are on it. I think I will need to watch it at least one more time to process what I saw on the screen. I felt like it was really different than any other episode. I am still excited about the end of the story and pumped to see what happens in the final 12 hours!

This is about all I got tonight. Let me know if there are some things in particular that you would like to see me put in the blog. I am thinking of watching movies regularly and adding reviews, finding new music to discuss, and maybe even posting occasional theological issues. What do you think?

Well, March has begun and let us hope that it brings spring very quickly. I used to love winter time but that was when I lived in TN and KY. Tennessee's winters were always cold to me. I always enjoyed when the seasons would change and we could have a nice cold spell. That has changed. It is really unbearable when this is the weather that one must endure outside:

I actually walked outside a few days later when it was about 30 degrees. I said, "Wow, it feels nice today." A 30 degree change is an incredibly nice change but it is still below freezing!!! Well I am done with winter. I am no longer enjoying it and will welcome the spring change very much this month.

Today was a pretty boring day and nothing really happened that was really blog worthy. I did want to take some time and suggest some music for you.

Needtobreathe is a great band! They are a southern rock band from South Carolina. They are Christian guys in a band. There music, though it can be found on Christian radio, is not CCM. They have a faith based background but there music is actually quality and very enjoyable. The lead singer, Bear Rinehart, reminds me of hints of John Fogerty vocally while of course have his own unique style. Nicole and I saw them back in November at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. It was a great show in an intimate venue. They said that the response to that show was so huge that they would for sure be coming back through. Well that time will be in a couple weeks. They are playing the House of Blues on the 18th. Nicole and I are going back and actually have backstage passes so we get to meet them!! I have been pumped for this show and excited about meeting the guys. I think this is why I have been listening to them more and have them on the brain. I recommend you check out their new album, The Outsiders. You can follow this link to iTunes or listen to their music on their own website.

in other news, out of boredom I signed up for a new(ish) site that I have seen promoted on Twitter quite a bit. It is called formspring.me (is it proper to put a period after that?) It is a site where readers can post anonymous questions and I can answer them. It seems silly i guess but I figured I would try it out and see if it is stupid or actually a fun time killer. Ask me questions at http://www.formspring.me/adamgodfrey

February went by so fast but I am glad for March to come and start bringing warmer temperatures. I have always grown up loving the winter and cold weather. That is until I moved somewhere that sub freezing, if not sub zero temperatures, is normal and stick around for quite some time. I am just tired of being frozen and the cold hurting when you step outside. I am also getting cabin fever and want to be able to enjoy being outside.

I think that since most Sundays are low key and somewhat boring on occasion, I am going to use these days to post YouTube videos (or any other video site). I will choose videos that are entertaining, interesting, or just plain funny. So many of us these days spend much time watching and sending videos to others to watch. I will start with one that if you spent much time with me in college, you have seen. After today I will try to put ones up that you have not seen. There is no reason to just post the ones everyone has seen 100 times.

That one cracks me up everytime! I hope everyone has a great week and beginning of a new month. What are your plans for the month? Anybody doing anything exciting this upcoming month?
