Tuesday

I hate sin.

That's all you are getting today. I am dealing with a heavy heart concerning a friend's sin and the consequence that are coming with that. Plus, the Internet isn't working at home right now so I'm on my phone. I am not motivated to type very much.

3-8-10

Today started out with very little motivation.  I truly had a case of the Mondays. The day got better around lunch though.  That was when I went to check my mail and saw that I had received my new Dirt Poor Robins cd.  It was released last Friday in Louisville.  I was not able to be there so my buddy Micah picked it up for me and mailed my copy to me.  Thanks Rev!!!

Dirt Poor Robins is a band from Louisville.  Their style is incredibly cool sounding.  Lead singer Kate Robins's voice is near intoxicating and lures you in so easily.  Her husband, Neil Robin's musical and lyrical talent is obvious throughout every single note heard.  Their website is still promoting their old album, The Cage.  That album was the first one I heard (I think it is their first ever).  I saw them do a couple shows in Louisville.  The show that DPR puts on is so refreshing in a sea of crappy music that is on the radio and the concerts performed in many venues today.  The new album, The Last Days of Leviathan, does not disappoint.  If you are looking for new music that is high quality, entertaining, and easy to listen to while doing any task, you need to pick up either Leviathan or The Cage.

The other thing that brightened my day was the arrival of a pleasant treat that, I believe, every one looks forward to, Girl Scout Cookies! I was able to buy this year's stock of Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties from a coworker.  I really do not know anyone that does not like these cookies.  Everyone should be able to find a flavor to enjoy and help out the local Girl scouts while in the process!

One thing about today I did not like at all was this:

This is the pain of owning an SUV, I know, and definitely not the most I have ever paid for gas, but still very unpleasant.  It is interesting to me how gas prices will fall and then quietly creep back up high levels and there is nothing we can do about it!! I am planning on traveling quite a bit at the end of the month, not to mention next week's trip to Chicago.  This will not be a welcome issue to have to incur n my gas guzzling machine!

YouTube Sunday

Well, i have a couple videos for you.  The first is short enough that I thought it warranted a longer second one.

The first is of Rick Sanchez talking about the effects of the Chilean earthquake on other islands.

The next one is a classic segment of an Abbot and Costello skit.  I wish I had known about this one in math class.

ALSO: I almost forgot.  In regards to the pottery creature, I only got 2 names Edgar and Lyle.  Let me know if you prefer one of those or have an original.  He shall be named soon!

Saturday

Well today's will be short because it is Saturday and it's always going to be tough to get much substance.

Random thoughts:

-Today was an incredibly beautiful day!! I don't know all the specs but I'm sure it was in the 40s if not low 50s. It was sunny and just one of those days that makes you happy. It was a much neded day among all the gloomy, cold and depressing winter days we have had.

-It was nice to hear that Louisville closed out Freedom Hall in grand fashion. I bet it was a joy to be in the Ville today! I really do miss that place.

-I actually won at something today.  Look at this below.  I do not really win anything of substance other than bragging rights, but it is something right!  It is a Twitter account that will send out a movie quote and you reply.  I am not sure if the winner is the first one that gets it right or they just pick one at random but today that person was me!! I bet i get a bunch of spam followers now because all of @DVDQuotes's 4,195 followers just gained access to my name!

Date Night 3-5-10

Tonight was another fun date night.   We went to Flat Top Grill for dinner.  I had a free meal for my birthday coupon which we took advantage of.  Afterwards, we checked out Alice in Wonderland.  It was a great movie and beautiful to watch.  You can't really expect any less from Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.  The movie was a joy to watch and entertaining.  However, Nicole said she was bored by it and did not seem to enjoy it as much.

In other news, we picked up our pottery from last week.  Here is mine:

He does not look too different from the last picture, but up close is shinier and the colors look very nice.  I am quite impressed with how it turned out.  Now he needs a name!! Please suggest what you think his name should be.  One suggestion was AG.  What do you think?

Also, this is not an avenue to really share many details about the boys I work with and I am sure that some time in the future I will share more about what is I do, but today was rough.  Please be praying for all of the boys here at Salem Ranch and especially for all of the Staff.  We have a tough job and can get very discouraged very often.  Your prayers will be noticed and are very appreciated.
